Welcome, Take Two – Coming Back From Hiatus
Eighteen months ago or so, I started this blog, having fallen deep down the fountain pen rabbit hole and in the grip of a happy hyperfocus which has yet to fade. I made a few posts (which I have, for now, unpublished), made a few friends, and then put Exquisition on hold in favour of my new Instagram account.
Instagram, though full of lovely pictures and lovely people, is not a great place for longform content, and there are plenty of things I want to talk about that Instagram doesn’t care a lot about. And so I’m back! I’ll continue to post plenty of photo content – and maybe the odd video – to Instagram, but my longer-form thoughts will appear here, along with guides and other useful resources.
The fountain pen community is genuinely one of the most positive, welcoming groups I’ve ever been part of, and it’s that warmth and welcome that has kept me swatching inks, sharing photos, and talking my head off in Discord, on Reddit, and even occasionally in person.
Admiring, buying, and using fountain pens – that’s easy, and can be done alone in the safety of a gremlin cave quiet study. But the community of fountain pen hobbyists adds an extra dimension, and is a big part of why my ink collection has exploded in the last four years from half a dozen bottles to literally hundreds of bottles, and even more samples! (I’m going to have to stop, because I’m running out of space!… I say, as I make room for another box of samples.)
So here I am, still. Don’t forget to like and subscribe! No, wait, wrong platform. Comments are very welcome, though, and if there’s any content you want to see more of, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
